Politica Universitatii [Harvard] este aceea ca toate deciziile de angajare [a personalului] trebuie facute doar pe baza calificarii [competentei].
1. Este considerat ca fiind nepotrivit ca intre angajati sa existe relatii de rudenie ori ca acestia sa apartina aceleiasi gospodarii.
2. Angajatii nu trebuie nici sa initieze, nici sa participe, direct sau indirect, la luarea unor decizii ( de angajare initiala sau numire [intr-o functie sau post], promovare, salarizare, repartizare a orelor de curs ori a lucrului, de repartizare a fondurilor, legate de invoiri etc) cand este vorba despre alti angajati cu care se situeaza in relatii de rudenie ori care apartin aceleiasi gospodarii.
3. In enunturile de mai sus se intelege prin "relatii de rudenie": sot, sotie ori echivalentul [partener/partenera], fiu/fiica (incluzand fiii/fiicele vitrege), parinti, bunici, socru, soacra, frate, sora (incluzand fratii/surorile vitrege), cumnat, cumnata.
"Membrii aceleiasi gospodarii" sunt considerati cei care impart acelasi spatiu de locuit cu angajatul.
University Policy on Nepotism
The policy of the University is that all employment decisions should be made solely on the basis of qualifications.
1. It is inappropriate for employees to be in reporting relationships with immediate family or household members.
2. Employees should neither initiate nor participate in, directly or indirectly, decisions involving a direct benefit (initial employment or appointment, retention, promotion, salary, course or work assignments, research funds, leave of absence, etc.) to members of their immediate family or household.
3. For the purposes of this policy statement: immediate family includes husband and wife or equivalents, son and daughter (including stepchildren), parents, grandparents, grandchildren, father-in-law and mother-in-law, brother and sister (including stepbrother and stepsister), brother-in-law and sister-in-law, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Household includes individuals regularly sharing the employee's residence.
